What do you get when you place a meticulous zoologist with a timber town background in the beautiful hinterland county of the Sunshine Coast? Not only fine contemporary furniture, but also design research and training, music soundscapes and performances, visiting artists and workshops, food gardens and timber plantations.
Ross Annels and his partner Dr Tamsin Kerr have established the Cooroora Institute to model an environmental and imaginative way of being in the world. Its community treads lightly and joyfully upon the earth, expressing a local, small-scale landscape memoir.
The Noosa ecoregion’s creativity is manifested in both practice and theory through the embedded and striking work of studio furniture designer and maker, Ross Annels.
Containing: over 70 full colour plates of Ross Annels’ furniture and studio, Cooroora Institute activities, and critical essay.
Print on demand hardback book available from the Cooroora Institute, or from the Ross Annels stand at the Eumundi Markets for $AUD110. |
